May is a full and exciting month of art

well, May is shaping up to be an exciting month for my art journey. The Stems Plein Aire Event starts this Friday night at the Overland Park Arboretum. I will miss opening night but will be painting that next week starting Monday or Tuesday at the Arboretum during the day. I will be posting on my Instagram page for dates and times so you can come out and watch all the artists painting that day and hopefully find a piece of art to enhance your home or business. The last painting date is May 30. In addit to Stems, I will be painting live and have some of my work for sale and viewing at the Cupcake A La Mode, 318 SE Douglas Street, Lee's Summit, Missouri during the Fourth Friday Art Walk in downtown district of Lee's Summit from 5pm to 9pm. Heck out my Facebook page, GraggStudios or on Instagram at gragg-studios for updates and reminders. Hope to see you there at one or all of the events. Happy Painting, Jennylynne

Honorable Mentiom at the Augusta Plein Aire Festival

Was an exciting year this year at the Augusta Missouri Plein Aire Festival. In spite of the multiple days of rain the second week, it was a successful painting trip. The crowning jewel was the honorable mention at the New Melle paint out. My friend and I were chowing down on dinner when she said, “ that's your painting.” I did a slight glance towards the judges then went back to eating my chicken. She kept persisting that it was and finally said “Get Up, Get Up , they said your name.” And sure enough it was. My little 5”x7” painting had caught the eye of the judge and was awarded Honorable Mention. It was my first award there and needless to say, a thrill. It helped to validate that if you hang in there and paint what you love that someone, somewhere might see and appreciate your vision. They have awesome volunteers, committees, sponsors, judges and fellow artist and event hosts that make it an enjoyable experience each of the 14 years I have participated. It is beautiful country to paint in and the many wineries make it even more enjoyable. Glamto be back home but will miss it too. Happy Painting, Jennylynne
